Free Webinar - Menopause at Work - Oct 20 at 10am EST
Menopause is a natural life stage, but its impact does not stop at the workplace door.
Women experiencing perimenopause and menopause may be navigating symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, disrupted sleep, anxiety, hot flashes, changes in confidence and difficulty concentrating, all while continuing to manage demanding careers, leadership responsibilities and life outside of work.
Women’s Seasons of Wellness provides evidence-based menopause education and workplace training designed to help organizations build awareness, equip managers and create a culture where employees feel informed, supported and able to thrive.
The Business Impact of Menopause
Menopause is more than a women's health conversation. It is a workforce conversation.
Women often experience menopause during the same years they are bringing significant experience, leadership, expertise and institutional knowledge to their organizations.
When symptoms interfere with work and employees do not have the information or support they need, the impact can extend beyond the individual employee to attendance, productivity, career decisions and retention.

Estimated annual US economic burden when medical expenses are added to lost work time.
Of employed women in a Mayo Clinic study reported at least one adverse work outcome due to menopause symptoms.
Reported missing work during the previous 12 months because of menopause symptoms.
And the impact can be even more pronounced for women experiencing more severe symptoms.
In the Mayo Clinic study, women with the highest menopause symptom burden were 15.6 times more likely to report an adverse work outcome than women with the lowest symptom burden.
The message for employers is clear: menopause can have measurable workplace consequences, and organizations have an opportunity to better support employees during this stage of their careers.
What Can Menopause Look Like at Work?
The symptoms affecting employees are not limited to hot flashes.
Research examining menopause symptoms and careers found that some of the symptoms most frequently affecting women at work included:
Fatigue – 54%
Difficulty sleeping – 47%
Poor concentration – 44%
Poor memory – 40%
In that study, 65% of respondents said their work performance had been affected by menopause symptoms, while 18% reported taking sick leave.
These are symptoms that can easily be mistaken for disengagement, declining performance or a lack of confidence when the underlying issue may be menopause.
For employers, awareness matters.
Why Workplace Support Matters
Menopause does not affect every woman in the same way. Some experience few symptoms, while others experience symptoms that significantly interfere with their daily lives and work.
Recent research has found associations between menopause symptoms, poor sleep quality and decreased workplace productivity. Symptoms have also been associated with absenteeism and employment decisions.
At the same time, the workplace itself can influence a woman's experience.
A supportive manager, greater awareness, flexibility and an environment where employees feel comfortable having appropriate conversations can make a meaningful difference.
The goal is not to lower expectations. It is to remove unnecessary barriers that may prevent experienced employees from performing at their best.

A Practical, Human Approach
Menopause education does not need to be uncomfortable, overly clinical or complicated. My approach combines evidence-based menopause education with compassionate, real-world conversation. Employees leave with a better understanding of menopause. Managers leave with practical tools they can use.
